Is that a lens or a telescope

Whatever it is it's making me jealous

Gitzo 5531s - First thoughts

Not had much of a chance to use the tripod yet. However:
  • Very easy to set up
  • Much lighter than a metal equivalent
  • Only 3 sections, but it still comes up to eye level when the Gimble Head and 600mm lens is attached
  • Leg locks are smooth in operation and lock solid without much pressure/twisting. (When legs are closed, air can be felt being expelled from the tubes as they are such a close fit)
  • Getting the tripod set at low level is very quick even with no centre column
  • Geared centre column, standard centre column or special video head are all readily available
  • 2 year warranty
  • Spares readily available
Next week I am on holiday from work as my wife put it! So will try and get out and use the gear and see how it performs in anger

That's not a lens, it's a mortar.

You do realize that you need a licence to fire on of those things.
