What you just said there David is a big factor i did not consider. I got the 4 section manfrotto carbon fibre tripod 0055CXPRO, good for my height (lightweight) but not so sturdy at full height as the legs go pretty damn thin at the bottom.

Well I have decided upon the Gitzo Systematic GT5531S

Carbon 6x
3 Section Systematic Studex Tripod
Updated flat top plate with safe lock disc, head locking screw and sand bag hook. Self locking rubber feet.

Just awaiting delivery to my local camera shop!

Still awaiting delivery! It appears that Gitzo closed for August and are still catching up with orders. However, delivery is forecast for next week - 3rd Oct

Hmm i have a couple of issues with things i have ordered recently

1) Orderd a leather case for my smartphone from Expansys month later it arrives.

2) Got my Canon 17-24L still waiting for the UV filter again over a month.

Well took delivery of the Gitzo. After the long wait.
It appears all the series 5 tripods that were sent to the UK have sold out!!
