My Manfrotto 055CXPRO4 Tripod And 322RC2 Head

I think my 400D is buggered, either the mirror is out of place or something is just not right. I wanted to show one of the reasons i bough this tripod setup so i took a few pics with the 5D mounted with the 400mm. I have known the 400D is not working right for a while now it tends on AF to go in and out of focus a lot if that makes sense. The 400D has become a prop of late unless im wanting to take the 400mm and smaller lens out.

Anyway back to the point, i bought the Manfrotto 055CXPRO4 due to many reasons and one of them was the amount of different positions you can put this tripod in. You can set the tripod up in the default position or you can adjust the legs to go very low down to the ground (thought it would be good for macro) you can move the tripod from being vertical to horizontal very quickly and easily.

Height, well I’m not the smallest of people at 6ft 3 and add the hiking boots 6ft 4 i wanted a tripod that i did not have to bend over too much to get to the camera level. Again having 4 different leg lengths makes it much easier to setup the tripod to the height that you want.

Manfrotto 322RC2 Head

My old tripod if it was not locked as far round as it could go it was wobble and pretty pointless even trying to use it so panning was out of the question. The Manfrotto 322rc2 head kept popping out at me on the web when i was searching for tripod heads for wildlife photography, after a fair bit of reading up I decided to give it ago. I like the idea of being able to put point the camera very quickly exactly where you want it and release to lock or hold in a pan with the subject.
I have not had the chance to use both that much outdoors however they are coming in very practical for small product photography for putting the camera above the light tent which I could not do before without looking in at a angle.

Next accessory is going to me the remote release for the head.

I will add more info the more i use it. I will replace these images with decent ones and put the 400D on the tirpod and use the 5D.

Looks a pretty flexible tripod Steve.

One of the features I like about the Benbo tripod is that the bottom half of the leg slides up over the outside of the top half of the leg. This means that if you have been using your tripod is wet or muddy conditions you don't end up putting the dirty leg inside the higher leg sections of the tripod and getting them dirty or gritty as well.

Tripod Bag

I think a camo tree tripod bag would set the whole thing off - what do you think?
