    Hi Rob,

Have you given any more thought to that trip to Skomer, in the near future?

    Hi Rob,
Back in the office today and was speaking to a colleague who has an interest in birds of prey. He advises against going to Newent for a couple of months because (Long story), the lady that ran it up until a few years ago has only just taken it on again. It has been let go by the last owner and is in need of some remedial work - My colleague is a volunteer there! He says that they will be getting a couple of Golden Eagles soon and there will be someone coming down from Yorkshire at weekends who also has a Golden Eagle. I will keep you posted. No problems with cameras etc on site and apparently the handlers are happy to help pose the birds for photographers!

So as I said, I will keep you up to date on progress at the centre and now I know someone on the "inside" that could also be a help

    Hi Rob,
Apologies for the delay in reply but I work away from home much of the week and only just got to view this post. Just come back along the M4 today. My son lives just off Jct 10. Near Bracknell. Just up from his house is a fairly large lake - Herons, Grebes and Cormorants seem to be about - No Camera tho.....Was thinking of trying to direct you there when you go down that way. Would really need a google map link I think.
I actually work up in Gloucester - well that is my base, just that as I say, I am out on the road most of the week.

Going off for a day over the weekend is pushing my luck at home whilst I am away so much!!!
Thank you for the kind offer though. Still up for the Puffins though. By the way, a colleague at work seems to think that Skomer is off limits at the moment - DEFRA ruling? Do you know anything about that at all?

No probs David,If we can help, just ask mate.It all comes with practice.Just remember, a good shot of something ordinary is loads better than a crap shot of something exotic!. We all had to start somewhere, and continue to learn from each other.Do you live anywher close enough to us to join us as were out most weekends?
Were plannning trips to berkshire, and the national bird of prey centre in newent soon if you would care to come.

    Hi Rob,

New to this forum, I have been looking at the posts. Just visited your images - some great shots. Where did you go to get the puffin picture, and what lens did you use etc etc?

    Regards

    David
