I don't have the vest (not yet anyway) but I have the belt that goes with it.

I currently use the Lowepro Pro Trekker AW II but with the arrival of the 2-man hide I may have to have a serious think about how I'm going to carry all the kit, so a vest fitted with suitable pouches would leave my back free to carry the hide. Unless I put the hide on first and the Trekker over the top!!

Yeah when you start to use a hide you do have to think on how you are going to carry your equipment. It depends on where i am going to what i take, a lot of the time im just taking the Canon 5D, 400mm, 1.4x exentder tripod and then the hide. When i first started i used to take all of my equipment but it can get a bit much, i tend to take all my equipment but leave the Tamrac bag in the boot with what i think i dont need.

Actually the harness looks quite interesting although I use a backpack and tend to carry everything about with me. It's waterproof and the lid opens flat onto the ground which works well as a mini ground sheet while changing lenses and stuff.

Back Pack

Hi
We are developing our own backpacks and appreciate all advise to what is needed. We aim to fit into the market with quality like Lowepro and Tamrac but half the cost. Can you please tell me the make and model of your backpack. I would like to add the ground sheet feature to our range.
Regards
Craig

Craig I have the LowePro Dryzone 200. It was quite expensive but it is totally waterproof allegedly it will even float. Occasionally I take my kit onto boats and I like the security of knowing that if I dropped it in all my kit would be safe. I also live on the west coast of Scotland and the weather can be quite changeable. I'll try to get some photos of the dryzone showing how the ground sheet idea works etc.

Hi Craig

I use the Lowepro Pro Trekker AW II, it also has a built in ground sheet which can be use to cover the whole bag to give it extra protection from either the rain or the dust in a dusty environment like a desert (not tried that yet)!!

It also comes with a small rucksack that can be clipped to the main bag. Useful if you are taking the full camera kit and still need room for your butties and flask or wet weather kit.

It also has a cover that comes up over the shoulder straps so that you can stow them away when transporting the bag in a car/train etc so that they don't get caught up on anything.

Would be interested to see what you come up with. If you need any volunteers for field trials I'm sure you'll find a few on here.

Back Pack

Hi
It is great to know we have offers for field trials for our products, we have lots of products at sample stage and later this year will offer our members free samples to test and advise.

Feel free to put anything that you would like to see in the suggestions section of the forum. As Craig said we have a few ideas of products that would benefit wildlife photographers but all at design/sample stag.
