Greywolf is on a distinguished road
I have a 400mm f5.6 lens

I think a CPF will lose you about 2 stops which may I lose AF as I will be down to f11, so unless I am happy to focus manually I don't bother with one.

Cheers for your comments Greywolf i tend to shoot at low F with the 400mm betwenn 4-11 roughly, i took a couple of photos while in Glasgow there is a slighly speed reduction on AF but will see how i go with it.

Filters

Hi, I agree there is a slight drop off in speed, but I did buy the filter for use in bright sunlight! So I will not be using it on dull days too much... The only other point that comes to mind is that some say that a linear polariser may interfere with auto focus - I have not noticed any problem with the ones I use. However I do have a couple of circular polarisers just in case!
