Wasp no macro :-(

Took this photo i the garden when i noticed a wasp flying about, i really wish i had a marco lens as i love the really close up images people get. I was just a little bit too close for the lens to focus correctly.

Steve, why don't you just get a set of extension tubes??
They'll get you so much closer just with the lenses you already own! ;)

Re: Wasp no macro :-(

A 1.4x will help, but you will loose any AF function on the 100-400mm as well as a drop off in image quality. On the other hand, extension tubes won't give any fall-off in image quality but will get you considerably closer for this kind of work. :)
Also, using a longish lens will help throw the backgrounds out of focus, making for an improved image! :D
