What's your Garden set-up.

I've just set-up a Bird table and Hide (shed) to try to get that little bit closer to the birds. Has anyone else done a garden set-up and if so send in your set-up pics. This one (see attachments) took me a day to do and so far (1hr) I've got starlings. Which I didn't think were all that colourful until I photographed them. They really are attractive little things.
I use the diamond window in the shed door to shoot though, which is about 1.5m away from the table.

Nice setup you have there with the branches coming off the bird table to so you can crop the feeders out. Im currently in Glasgow on business but when i am back i will post some photos of my garden setup.

If you get starlings in good light you can see how colourful they really are, they look like they have been dipped in oil. Ive got a cracking photo of a starling just uploaded to the gallery.

I concentrate more on video than stills with my setup. I have 9 mini video cameras set up around my garden in lots of different places. Inside nest boxes, looking at feeders, watching hedgehogs feeding and watching my wildlife pond. These are all camera kits I've designed over the last 5 years and sell them on my website www.gardenature.co.uk

Just curious garnet where did you get your bird table from or did you make it. Am looking at getting a decent bird table (one that will last), at present i just have a few feeder stations beside a lot of bushes/plants and get the photos of the birds when they land beside the feeders.

Sorry for not getting back to you, been on shift's lately and this is the first chance I've had to get back. The bird table was hand built about 2 yrs ago from some spare wood I had left from building the shed.

Hide Finally arrived and set up!

Once I got the hang of the "Umbrella" bit setting it up was fine.
The weather was lousy - wet and very windy. Left the hide set up all night, using the pegs and some bungy cords attached to the steel rings at the apex of each wall - just to be sure it didn't blow away.
Next morning the hide was still there! The ground was dry underneath and very little moisture inside.
I used the hide intermittently throughout the day. Aside from putting the hide up, the next hardest thing was finding the zippered door - talk about camouflage...
Very pleased with hide - just need time to use it. The birds accepted it without a problem. However my wife did not, as it was parked over the rotary clothes line hole!

When folded up I put 3 small bungees around the hide in order to keep it folded and compact when putting it into the bag.

When in use the hide did all it said it would - thank you for that.

A small note though - just me, but it would be good to have a small pocket or similar attached to the inside - near a viewing window, just somewhere to put a lens cap and end cap etc, nothing too large.

I did want to go the shed route but the shed would have to be moved etc so that was a non starter. With the hide I can now set up anywhere...

Glad you like the Elite hide, im the same at the moment its all about getting the time to get out and use the equipment. Do you use feeders in your garden, if so how close are you putting them to the hide? That is a good idea about having small pockets at the windows.
