Simon King Review Of Camo-Tree Elite 360 Wildlife Photography Hide
Wildlife cameraman and TV presenter Simon King has reviewed our Camo-Tree Elite 360 Hide in the ‘My Kit Box’ section of his website. Read his review by clicking the link below.
After a brief wrestling match - the hide was set up - albeit in the conservatory!
Despite only having briefly set the hide up, I would like to suggest one minor modification!
When I located the webbing tabs at the centre of each wall/roof I would have liked the webbing to have been a loop rather than a single length of webbing
I believe a loop would provide a better grip especially if the user is wearing gloves
The current webbing did not provide enough grip when pulling out the sections when opening the hide for the first time
Possibly this will improve when the hide has been used a few times and things have bedded in so to speak
Looks to be a fine piece of equipment - in the flesh so to speak - just need to get out and try it tomorrow...
Regards
Finally got the hide up and running - in the garden at home, sat in it and had a cup of tea!!
Such a good day for outside jobs around the home - photography didn't get a look in
However, the hide is still up and I hope to use it tomorrow.
Is there a right way of putting up the hide, I mean should I start putting up the sides, or the roof first, or doesn't it really matter, only it seems quite a struggle. Once up it holds my electric scooter and me with space to spare, which is great, any tips would be greatfully received. ian
Hi, Had similar problems when I first got the 360. I started with the walls and then the roof. Now, after some use, the material has stretched a bit and it is easier to set up. I found the utube video non too helpful to be honest. Once u have the hide erected for the first time and can then see how is should look, it is easier visualising the end product as you set it up on subsequent occasions.
David,
Thank you for your reply, yes I agree the utube video is none to helpful. I love the hide it's just a struggle to get it setup, as you say in time, it will become easier, it pack's away quicker than it goes up. It probably doesn't help, that I laugh at my attemps to errect the hide, but I get there.
all the very best, ian
The hub hides are designed to be as solid as possible once its setup, the only way to do that is to have the X sections tightly connected, hence the bit of strength needed to pull them open. I will try and take videos again just not sure how i can explain better on:
Remove the hide from the bag
Place the hide verticle so the sides fall out
From the centre pull each side out
Either pull the roof at the end or go inside to pop it up
