Hi Steven my two man hide turned up at 1pm today

Not bad, dispatched 5pm Wednesday arrive and delivery in Orkney in under 48hrs

Had it out of the bag and assembled by 1.10 and back in the bag for 1.15 having spent a couple of minutes sat inside checking out all the windows.

So it is very easy to put up and pack away although it may take slightly longer to do if there was a bit of a breeze blowing.

Just one question, should there be a solid cover for the rear window? Mine just has a fixed mesh screen. So if the sun is behind you and you get down to wader level on a beach they could potentially see your silhouette moving around inside the hide even if the front mesh screen is up.

Hopefully if the weather is good here over the weekend I'll get to go out and try it out in the field.

Cheers, Dave

Hi Steven

I'm referring to the window directly behind the chair not the side windows.

I wasn't able to get out over the weekend to try it as we had strong to gale force winds and I didn't fancy flying off across Scapa Flow

Hopefully next weekend will be a bit calmer and I'll have my new camera to try out as well

Cheers Dave

Yeah the wind has been really strong here, i was down at Glasgow over the weekend decorating a flat and the car was getting blown about a fair bit. Came back last night to find the bird table over and damaged.

I done't have access to the two man hide atm as i let my friend borrow it. Will speak to despatch to see if they can pull one out.

Hi, I'm looking to buy one of these hides but not sure which one to go for. I'd love to see a picture of the one and two man hides side by side with a person standing next to them to give me a better idea of scale. I'd also like to see one with the front closed up. I live on the west coast and it rains a fair bit, it would be good to know I could close up the front to keep dry.

Although I will be using the hide alone I'm not sure if the one man hide is big enough for me and my gear. I'm tempted by the two man because of the double seat so I can have my gear and my flask to hand and off the ground but wonder if the extra weight may be a burden.

Any user experiences would really help me make up my mind so I can get my order in.

Will

PS, great forum, hope it is a success

I will see what i can do but i am affraid its going to be a couple of over a week before i can get the two man hide back from my friend to get a two and one man hide together.

Where are you going to be using the hide the two man backpack is a fair bit larger than the one man. What equipment do you plan on using in the hide?

PS where on the west coast i live in Ullapool.

[EDIT] I see you are from Oban

Hi Steve, I live just North of Oban. The gear I usually carry is a Lowepro Dryzone 200 bag fairly well loaded, tripod and some food and drink. I'll be using the hide locally to start with but who knows about the future. One of the 1st things I want to use the hide for is to photograph a pair of red throated divers which use a local Loch every spring. Access is about a 2 mile uphill hike. I've spent quite a bit of time trying to photograph them but I'm sure they have a sixth sense and stay a long way away from wherever I am waiting. I would say that generally I will be carrying my kit a maximum of a mile or so on foot.

Sitting in a hide for a few hours I think I'd like the extra space but maybe I won't need it or maybe the 2 man will just be too bulky. It's always a risk with mail order that I may make the wrong choice. The one man is the obvious option ....... or is it?

I will see if i can get some free time this weekend and i will setup my gear iin the one man hide and see if i can Nanette to take a couple of pics. Im 6ft 3 and not the smallest of people so that should give you an idea.

Doghouse is using a chair hide, he might have something to say as i know he uses a lot of equipment.

No worries about the photos as there are plenty on ebay eBay.co.uk Shop - Ultimateaddons: Hunting Hides: GAME DUCK DEER FISH HUNTING CAMOUFLAGE HIDE SEAT BLIND

Looking at the details of the one man hide I can see that its pretty big when packed down obviously the chair has quite a bulk. Good photos though to compare the one and two man sizes.
