Birding holidays in Andalucia

Andalucía’s fantastic geographical location makes for an ideal bird watchers and photographers paradise the whole year round, with large areas of Andalucía being zoned as natural parks allowing the bird populations plenty of natural habitats.
With 13 resident raptor species in Andalucía, as well as several that migrate here annually from Africa. The best place to see them is in the more mountainous parts of the province where they circle high in the sky riding the thermals.

At ‘Twitching Spain’ our week long birding holidays are tailored so that you get the maximum bird watching everyday, we take you and guide you to many different locations, these include Natural parks, mountain ranges and old passes, lakes and reservoirs, beach cliffs and valleys.
This way you get a chance to see lots of different species and some spectacular views of the Andalusian country side.
We only guide a maximum of 4 people on any one week that way we can give you our complete attention.

A lot of our viewing points are along the old donkey mountain passes and old smuggling tracks where people don’t normally go, these we access in our air conditioned 4x4’s but please note that these tracks can be a little bumpy but its worth it! This we believe adds to the whole holiday an adventure.

As well as having our own private hides that are located in prime positions and also have hides that are supplied by http://www.ultimatenaturegear.com that we erect at different locations throughout the day, our 4x4 is air conditioned and painted in camouflage so we also blend in with the background and don’t spook potential birds and wildlife.

All of our accommodations are air conditioned and have sky TV and internet connection. My wife Janatha (a chef by trade) will prepare a picnic lunch and a good home cooked meal on our return from a day birding we also light up the barbecue on the Friday night so that you can chill out before your return journey.

Included in the package
• Transport from the Malaga airport to the accommodation.
• Professional guide and driver
• 6 night’s accommodation with Sky TV and internet access.
• Continental style breakfast (toast, jams, marmalades and cereals) Tea and coffee (self catering)
• 5 days guided bird watching at 5 different locations including transport
• Packed lunch and drinks (tea, coffee, water and soft drinks) during the day
• Home cooked evening meal with 1 bottle of wine, beer or soft drinks and desert. Vegetarian needs catered for.
• All fee’s into parked areas
• Toll fees and fuel.
• Return transport to Malaga airport.
• • Transport is a 4x4 seven seated air-conditioned Mitsubishi Shogun or a 5 seated air-conditioned Ford 4x4 Ranger.

What’s not included in the package• Flights
• Insurance
• Items of a personal nature.
• Any food extras other than what we supply.
• On the 1st day we will visit a local supermarket so if there are any extra’s you require you may purchase them.

1000 shots, i think i would be changing back from RAW to JPEG. Doubt i will make it out the country this year with my 9 month old son. 300 different birds in a day is very impressive figures.

Its 25 years old! was one of the first ever mirror lenses to go on the market.

if you type in Nikon 25-1000 f11 mirror you might have some luck. I cant wait as I have just heard that Nikon are bringing out a auto focus mirror lense range a 500mm a 600mm and a 800mm Minolta have already done it and Canon are meant to be following suit.
seems more people are changing over as they are so much shorter and less weight.
will add photo of mine
Neill
