Glad to hear that your pleased with your new suit. I can't believe you road testing the suit around your village. What a sight!!! With reference to your car keys, have you ever thought of attaching the keys to a cord and in turn attach the cord to a belt loop on the trouser and place the keys in one of your trouser pockets. This also means you can't loose your car keys. "Just need some good weather at the weekend to go out with the camera gear."
Who needs good weather with a suit like this, just take some winter shots, wind, rain and grey skies!!!!

It was okay, it was dark and fairly quiet so I don't think I surprised any of the locals
I have a cord with a clip on the end that I have used before for attaching keys to belt loops. I just know I'm going to lose something in one of the many pockets at least it won't be the camera.
All these pockets will be a godsend for carrying the camera gear so I won't need the camera bag which makes it easier to carry the chair hide, tripod(s), scope etc.
You're right about the weather, now I won't get wet setting my chair hide up so I should be able to get out in all conditions. Once in the hide the suit should keep me quite cozy
Funny you should say that, i was up one of the hill at bon fire night and i could not find my keys and my lens cap for a couple of seconds, i found them but it was in the hand warmer pocket (lens hood) and keys were in the top pocket.
Hi Dave.
I only have one adverse comment about the whole suit regarding the pockets. The more you put in the pockets the more you are likely to loose.
Use the pockets wisely and cautiously.
Just as an aside, I have had a 1Ds MK111 plus a 70-200 f2.8 IS lens stuffed ito one of the side pockets.

Hi,
Since I last posted I have
a) bought a apir of the trousers
and
B) worn the gear a lot more.
First thing I want to say is that this is the best outdoor gear I have owned. It, is comfortable, very warm, waterproof and quiet. I have spent the last three weekends rolling around on wet leaves and grass in pursuit of photographs that never seemed to quite make it, but the clothes just made it so easy. I don't think twice about kneeling or lying which is just how it needs to be if you want to, at least try, and get the shot.
If you don't mind there are a couple of improvements I would like to suggest:
1 the flaps on the outside breast pockets could do with being a bit longer. If put my notebook and a filter in the pocket there is ample room but the flap gapes in the m,iddle which lets in water.
2) the inside zip pocket won't take an OS map and I always use these pockets for my maps.
3) the SD card storage in the sleeves is a great idea but I usually use CF cards, which don't fit. How about SD cards one side and CF cards the other.
(I actually have one SD card in one of the slots and 2x£1 coins in all the others which gives me an emergency supply of £10.
4) I wouldn't actually put my credit cards in the card holders and would rather have another pocket.
Just minor niggles really, the jacket and trousers are superb quality and I would recommend them to any outdoor person, not just a photographer.

I would agree on three of points made by Greywolf.
First I would agree that this is the best outdoor outfit I have owned and I think the designers of the kit have done an excellent job, they have listened to customer requirements and then used that information to produce the goods. So well done to them
Secondly, I to would recommend the outfit to any outdoor person. I have recently started to train as a bird ringer and yesterday spent over three hours on a beach in strong, cold winds. The kit was very comfortable, I was nice and warm, didn't really notice the wind except for trying to stand upright now and again and it was very quiet (handy when trying to get close to the birds). The ability to unzip the sides of the jacket made crouching down quickly a breeze.
Thirdly, on the minor niggles I wouldn't use the credit card holders either, my cards would stay in my wallet which would be in a trouser pocket.
Thanks for the feedback it is always welcome, i was wearing mine today down the west coast of Scotland. Just looking at photos hopefully get a couple uploaded today, was going to try and make it to loch maree but did not have the time.
I picked up a copy of the Christmas 2009 edition of the Outdoor Photography magazine (issue 121) while I was down South last week and see Laurie's review has finally made it to print.

Update on my photographers' Suit. Since I posted at the begining of December I have worn the jacket and trousers constantly. I have been out all day in the coldest weather we had over Christmas day after day. With just a pair of good thermal leggings under the trousers and straightforward, thick T shirt, thick shirt, and fleece under the Jacket I was never cold, even when sitting for extended periods. I really am very pleased with it. It has become normal wear when I go out taking photographs. The colour is excellent.
I have to confess I am no fan of DPM, and probably wouldn't have bought it if it had been DPM or real tree.
I still stand by the comments from my previous post, but they are really only minor niggles. I haven't washed it yet as I tend to avoid that like the plague. I prefer to smell like the forest. Anyway it doesn't really get dirt. Mud and stuff just brushes off.
An excellent piece of kit.
