The weather has been really poor in Ullapool for the last few days but i managed to go up the Ullapool hill walk to day. As i was getting about 1/2 way to the top i noticed a buzzard just off the edge of the cliffs. The wind was strong today about 40mph and you could watch the bird correct itself in the wind. Amazing how these bird manage to stay in one area even with such strong winds.
After watching this buzzard soar off into the distance i walked a little bit further and then seen another buzzard this time using the wind to go from one end of the hill walk to another, as soon as it went by me i noticed a large carrion crow take off from the cliff and go directly for the buzzard. The carrion crow looked like it had a much large wing span that the buzzard, need to check this out but the buzzard just took off.
The wind was really strong which made it difficult for me to get any decent photos and again the birds were just too far away.
You can see from the images below the distance i was away from the buzzard.
After checking my "complete british wildlife " guide i think it might have been a Raven not 100%.
