Re: Anyone know the name of this bird?

Well done Steven .. spot on ..

It's in fact a juvenile Woodlark, Digiscoped at Linwood Warren, Lincs last spring ..

I do a fair amount of Digiscoping, using a Nikon 995 Camera attached to a Swarovski AT 80 HD Scope, all mounted on a Manfrotto Carbon Fibre tripod ..though the results can be quite variable (and often frustrating) depending on range, lighting, heat haze etc ..

Bye for now ..

Kev ..

Slightly off topic but what you think of your Manfrotto Carbon Fibre tripod?

Re: Anyone know the name of this bird?

Absolutely brilliant .. I certainly wouldn't go back to its predecessor .. the Manfrotto 190 Nature (all steel construction) especially since having both my knees replaced ...

I was using it to watch Peregrines at Symond's Yat (Gloucestershire) recently & had two of its legs on the ground & the third at almost 90 degrees, resting on the Watch Point wall .. an advantage is that the legs open far further enabling "difficult" or ultra low useage ..

It's just as stable as the 190 Nature & about half the weight .. if it has any faults, I haven't found them yet .. I keep the old one as a spare (just in case) .. ;)

Bye for now ..

Kev ..
