Short Eared Owl sighting !

Hi,
Spotted this Short Eared owl on the Marazion RSPB reserve in Cornwall last week, was on my way back and spotted it gliding out of the far woods, never seen one before and believe they are quite rare this far down in the UK, so at first thought it was a Tawny owl but at 2.30pm in the afternoon thought that a bit strange, it wasnt till i got home and checked it when i realised what it was, i didnt get very good shots of it, hopefully next time !!! Ive attached a very cropped image !!

Welcome to the forum Gary, looks like a good shot to me especially if it was a reaction photo and you were not setup. I don't get many owls where i am but there is meant to be a barn owl about 25miles away i need to try and get.

Yeah would agree there, i stopped at a layby and got out the car then i heard a bird of prey turned around and there was a sea eagle disappearing into the hills. Did not expect it at all. Good shot Gary, hope to see more.
